LOVE’S LABOUR’S LOST AT WADHAM COLLEGE
Our MCP students spent one of their evenings in Oxford watching Love Labour’s Lost, directed by Nicholas Green, and performed in the beautiful gardens of Wadham College. MCP Student Aoife Haakenson writes about the production.
Tucked behind our dining hall and a minute’s walk from our lodging, a garden turned theatre awaited us Saturday night. Love’s Labour’s Lost, with original music by Nick Lloyd Webber, was a delightful jumble of wit and mayhem. The story, which really is Shakespeare at his least politically correct, was presented by multitalented actors who sang and played instruments throughout the show.
With moments of brilliant physical comedy as well as jokes whose purpose seemed unclear, this silly performance made for a light-hearted way to spend an evening surrounded by the peaceful greenery of Wadham College.
